Death is Defeated

"Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." (John 5:24)

Today, I decided to rest up and spend the day with my family, as I prepare to start the last 49 miles of this 600 journey tomorrow. We decided to go over to Old Salem. It is always interesting to see and learn about history. While there we walked through the Moravian Church cemetery. On this Halloween day, most seem to make light of death. However, as you walk through a cemetery, it brings to reality that life is short and fleeting. What a joy and relief it is for those who have placed their faith in Christ. Through Christ, sin has been conquered, and death defeated. Physical death is not a fear. For, at the moment we close our eyes on this earth for the last time, we are ushered into eternal life, and into the arms of our Savior. Through faith, may we boldly join with the apostle Paul in saying, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."

Please continue to pray that we will reach our goal to fund the Emmanuel Home.
