Tim & Karis

We met in 2012 when Tim started at a new job and Karis was his assigned trainer. After dating for almost two years, Tim proposed to Karis at her favorite place, the Dean Smith Center at UNC, and we were married six months later. We decided our honeymoon should be a time to honor our union together and with God by going on a mission trip to an orphanage in Haiti. This is when our hearts were first opened to adoption as a possibility for our lives.

Tim is the oldest of six children and is very family oriented. While spontaneous and up for adventure, he is also very organized. Faith and family have always been the most important things in his life. Karis is a creative person who loves to cook and craft. She cares deeply for others and makes an impact on those around her. In our community we spend time volunteering at the local food bank, Ronald McDonald House and at our church. Tim has five younger siblings and Karis has two siblings. Between our two families, we have many nieces and nephews ranging in age from 2 to 18 years old. We adopted our dog, Scarlet, 3 years ago. She loves to celebrate holidays, birthdays or even just weekends together with all the nieces and nephews.

We are excited to welcome to our family a boy, girl, or twins (of any gender combination), newborn to six years old, through open, semi-open or closed adoption.

DEAR EXPECTANT MOTHER

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about us. We are excited to give you a glimpse into our lives and our history together, so you can get to know us better. We have a lot of love in our relationship with each other and with our family and friends. And we want to add you and your child to this group.

On our mission trip/honeymoon to a Haitian orphanage we were blessed with the opportunity to see what love and hope can bring to a child that can’t be parented by their biological family. These children were so happy and full of joy. They created the desire in us to bring that happiness and joy to others through adoption for our family. We promise to love, nurture and keep your child safe. We will work to give them a life of opportunity and possibility. We will honor you and your relationship with your child.

As you make an adoption plan for your child, we are praying that you find the right family that brings you peace of mind. It takes courage and selflessness to put the needs of your child before any of your own needs or wants. Please know that you are loved and being prayed for even if you don’t feel it right now.

In Christ’s love,
Tim & Karis
