Lance & Kristi
We are Lance and Kristi and we met over 12 years ago while volunteering at a weekend retreat for high school students at our church. We were adult volunteers and Lance was doing a silly skit, so the first time Kristi saw him, he had on a ridiculous costume with crazy hair, cutoff jean shorts, and, well... it was awful. Lance likes to think it was love at first sight for Kristi!
From our first conversations, we had so much in common. So many desires, passions, and plans. It was clear we were going to be a dream team. We got married 11 years ago and have experience so much together in this past decade. We've finished grad school, got jobs, got promotions and new jobs, traveled, lived overseas, got sick, got better, got sick again, and got better again. We have lived through a lot of ups and downs and the thing that has been so true throughout all of it is that we did it all together. We are best friends. We absolutely love each other and couldn't imagine being on this journey of life with anyone else!!!
Lance is a goofball. He loves to laugh and make others laugh. He makes silly faces and has already perfected the art of "Dad Jokes." He's also really compassionate and caring. He seeks to listen with care and discernment and strives to give wise and Christ-honoring feedback to people. He loves sports and music. Most people really are drawn to one or the other, but Lance loves both. He loves to build furniture and create things. He really enjoys experiences and making new memories!
Kristi is a people-person to her core! She enjoys hosting people in their home - either by having people over for dinner, coffee, or just to hang out around the fire pit in their backyard. She loves encouraging others and has a sympathetic heart towards those who are suffering. She likes to spend her free time by reading books, being with friends, or simply playing with their dog, Tucker. She loves to laugh and loves music! She knows the lyrics to every song ever written. Ok, maybe not every song... but most! :)
Much of our life revolves around our family and friends and the ministry we have through our church. We are passionate about living in diverse relationships. Our friends and our church has formed so much of who we are and who we will be in the years to come. Jesus is the center of our home and we live to know him more and to share the love we have found in him with others. We have waited for children and are so excited to grow our family through adoption! We have prayed for this and trust God's plan and timing for our family!
We are excited to welcome to our family a boy, girl, or twins (of any gender combination), newborn to three years, through open, semi-open or closed adoption.
DEAR EXPECTANT MOTHER
Thank you. Thank you so much for making an adoption plan for your baby. We are so encouraged by the bravery and trust you are showing to do what you believe to be best for him or her. You are awesome! We are so very grateful that you have chosen to walk this path and we are asking God to give you courage and confidence in the journey. We know there will be hard moments. But, he is faithful and we are praying for you every day! Thank you for considering us to be parents for your baby. We promise to love and adore them and to raise them to know the love of the Lord. We will put all of their needs and desires ahead of our own. We will dream with them for the future, cry with them in the disappointments, and celebrate all of the joys that may come in life. Thank you for the incredible gift you are giving us. YOU are a BIG part of our story! You are loved with a never-ending love!
