Ann & Shaun
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We are Shaun, Ann, and Hannah and we are excited to add to our family through adoption. Our adoption story began long before we met. Ann was adopted as an infant, and her brother was adopted internationally as a toddler. Shaun has a brother adopted through the foster care system, and he worked in orphanages overseas. We also have many adopted extended family members. From the time we started dating, we both agreed that we would one day add to our family through adoption.
We met in Raleigh in 2001 while Ann was in college and Shaun was in Seminary. After dating for two years we were married in 2003. Our daughter, Hannah, was born in 2006. Shortly after her birth, we moved back to Ann’s hometown to be near family. Hannah is very excited about the opportunity to become a big sister. She loves helping care for her younger cousin and is a little momma to every baby she is around.
Currently, Shaun is employed as a Safety Specialist and working on his Masters Degree. Ann is a stay at home mom. We are both active in our local church. Shaun is a Deacon and volunteers with the youth, and Ann volunteers with the children. Ann is also an active volunteer at Hannah’s elementary school. We want to raise our children to know and love Jesus.
About Shaun (by Ann)
Shaun is an amazing husband and father. He has a great sense of humor and is always able to bring a smile to everyone around him. He works hard to provide for his family and then can come home and play just as hard. He reads the Bible with Hannah every night at bedtime and is an amazing spiritual leader for our family. Shaun is the best man that I know and he cannot wait to welcome a new child into our family.
About Ann (by Shaun)
My wife is the most loving person I know. She puts her family and faith first in her life. Even when I as her husband come up with crazy ideas, she remains supportive and loving. You cannot capture all of her beauty in one word, because it is not only her smile, but the love in her eyes and strength in her heart. She is also smart, selfless, and funny. She has a caring heart that most people don’t get to see. She opens that heart when she works with children at church and school. She tries to hide that heart through her strength. I am blessed that I get to see that caring, loving heart every day.
We are excited to welcome to our family a boy or girl, newborn to three years old, through open, semi-open, and closed adoption.
